MOM revised haze guidelines and advisory for work

Date: 18 September 2015

The Ministry of Manpower has recently revised the Guidelines for Employers on Protecting Employees from the Effects of Haze.

In the revised guideline, employers are advised to consider providing workers with sufficient respiratory protection such as respirator with protection factor higher than the N95 mask (e.g. full face respirators) for prolonged outdoor work when 24-hour PSI exceeds 400.

Employers should also ensure that fit-tests should be conducted and sufficient stock (for disposable mask) is available.

The revised Guidelines can be found on MOM's website here.
