Nanyang Polytechnic Symposium, Singapore Perspective on Urban Air Quality and Public Health Singapore

IOM’s Dr Rob Aitken was an invited speaker at a one day symposium on the health effects of haze organised by the Centre for Sustainable Nanotechnology at Nanyang Polytechnic. The event was supported by the nanOsing group (www.nanosing.sg).

 The symposium brought together experts to discuss current understanding and new developments in this field. The topics range from environmental monitoring, particle collection and characterisation, disease conditions related to poor air quality and innovations for mitigating exposure and risk; with the overall aim to understand aspects of air pollution relevant to Singapore environment and identify affordable solutions to mitigate the health risk.
